Arab Movements in Cairo: Confirmation on the Return of Syrian Refugees

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stated during a press conference at the conclusion of the Arab Contact Committee meeting regarding Syria in Cairo that "we discussed the dimensions of the Syrian crisis," emphasizing the importance of maintaining the unity and sovereignty of Syrian territory. He noted that "the Arab Contact Committee on Syria confirmed the necessity of resuming the work of the constitutional committee," explaining that "there will be communication with the UN envoy to Syria to resume the work of the constitutional committee." He also pointed out that "the committee welcomed the Syrian government's decision regarding the entry of humanitarian aid through the Bab al-Hawa border crossing."

He stressed the need to provide favorable conditions for the return of Syrian refugees and called for "the necessity of international community solidarity to confront the phenomenon of terrorism in Syria."

Additionally, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Syrian counterpart, Faisal al-Miqdad, discussed the latest developments in Syria and the region today, Tuesday, at the Tahrir Palace in Cairo, exchanging views on topics of mutual interest. This was on the sidelines of the Ministerial Contact Group meeting regarding Syria.

The Saudi Foreign Minister also met with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, reviewing ways to enhance brotherly relations between the two countries in various fields of mutual cooperation. The two sides addressed multiple issues concerning the two countries that serve common interests, in addition to discussing developments in the regional and international arenas and the efforts being made in this regard.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry also presented the joint cooperation between their countries and ways to enhance bilateral work in all areas.
