Palestinian Foreign Ministry Condemns Israel's Targeting of Civilians in Gaza: Calls for International Investigation Committee

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in a statement the deliberate killing of dozens of unarmed Palestinian civilians and the wounding of hundreds through the Israeli occupation forces' bombardment of humanitarian aid queues in Gaza, as part of a policy to starve the Palestinian people and commit collective extermination, which drives them to despair, fuels the fire, and weakens the chances for a just and comprehensive peace. The ministry called for the establishment of an international investigation committee to determine responsibilities and to prevent the party responsible for this crime from escaping accountability and punishment.

The ministry reaffirmed the importance of the international community adopting unified standards to halt the blatant violations of international humanitarian law in Gaza by taking strong international stances that compel Israel, like other countries, to comply with international humanitarian law, allowing for the immediate and unconditional delivery of humanitarian assistance, and implementing a ceasefire to end this futile war that increases extremism and hatred, yielding only tragedies and miseries, and laying the groundwork for future wars and conflicts fueled by unarmed innocents.
