Germany Demands Israel Revoke Settlement Construction in the West Bank

Germany on Wednesday urged the Israeli government to immediately withdraw its approval for additional settlements in the occupied West Bank, stating that such an action constitutes a serious violation of international law. Commenting on the approval by Israel's High Planning Committee for plans to build around 3,500 new housing units in the settlements of Ma'ale Adumim, Kedar, and Efrat in the West Bank, the German Foreign Ministry strongly condemned "the approval of the establishment of more settlement units in the West Bank."
