Baghdadi from Tehran: Serious Discussion Needed Between Lebanon and Syria Regarding Displacement

Member of the Central Council of "Hezbollah," Sheikh Hassan Baghdadi, emphasized during his meeting in Tehran with the representative of Imam Khamenei for university affairs, Sheikh Mustafa Rostami, the necessity for serious discussions between Lebanon and Syria concerning Syrian displacement, in the interest of both countries. Baghdadi stated, "The Syrian presence is no longer merely a humanitarian issue; rather, it causes severe harm to Syrians themselves as well as to the Lebanese. This is what we have been calling to address from the very first day alongside the humanitarian aspect. Those who were placing obstacles under the pretext of humanitarian conditions were collaborating with the criminal West wanting to pressure the Syrian regime as well as Lebanon, which is something we have always refused. We have continually urged the government to seriously deal with the file of displaced people away from foreign interests, and unfortunately, serious discussions on this subject have not taken place. I believe that the forces conspiring against the Syrian and Lebanese people will drink from the same cup they prepared for the region based on the principle of 'he who cooks the poison eats it,' and they also play a key role in obstructing other national entitlements, most notably the election of a president for the republic." Sheikh Baghdadi concluded, "What is happening in the region indicates that the Americans are still working with their allies to destroy the area in favor of the temporary Israeli entity and to achieve their ambitions concerning our wealth, which calls for us to further adhere to our right to resist and to strengthen the bonds of cooperation in the resistance axis, with the Islamic Republic at the forefront."
