Iraq's Hezbollah Brigades security official, Abu Ali al-Askari, stated on Saturday that the targeting operations of American bases in Iraq and Syria on Friday "are the beginning of a new engagement framework." Al-Askari added on his Telegram channel that "our jihadist operations against the American occupation will continue until the last soldier is expelled from Iraq. If the Iraqi government wants to negotiate with it to withdraw its forces from the country, we do not oppose that, although we firmly believe it is another lie from the Americans that will not fool us."
He further stated, "We reiterate that any foolishness from the American enemy will be met with a multiplied response and an expansion of operations. We will not be deterred by the fabrications of the naysayers and subservient individuals from performing our legitimate and national duty towards our country and our nation."
Al-Askari continued, "The American embassy of evil remains a forward base for managing military and security operations and a nest for espionage. Some see their dignity in submitting to it and promoting it as a diplomatic mission that must be protected. Woe to them and their interests at the expense of their country, as they take submission as a means to preserve their fleeting positions with the end of the occupation."
He pointed out that "the operations group yesterday is merely the beginning of a new engagement framework, and the coming days will determine the level of response," indicating that "the cooperation of some security personnel with the criminal American occupier for flimsy reasons will make them its puppets and partners in its crimes, and this is something that the original Iraqis will not tolerate."
