The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beirut, Mojtaba Amani, stated that "Imam Sadr is one of the figures of the Islamic Revolution launched by Imam Khomeini. Therefore, the arrogance sought to rid themselves of these minds to intimidate people, and because there were no alternatives at that time. In Lebanon, they kidnapped Imam Sadr to eliminate his resistance project that supported the Islamic Revolution, and in Iraq, they killed the martyr Sayyed Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr because he was a strong pillar for the Islamic Republic. At the beginning of the revolution, many scientific, political, and military leaders were killed, such as martyr Motahhari, Sayyed Beheshti, the president, and the prime minister, and many leaders at that time survived by a miracle after being injured, including the leader, His Eminence Imam Khamenei. All of this was to instill fear in the people, especially the Iranian people, in addition to the absence of alternatives. But thank God, their goals failed, and the blessed march and revolution continued." He added during a cultural seminar in the southern town of Ansar: "The equation today has changed, and there is now a resistance axis. The equation with Israel is no longer a mere confrontation; there has been a qualitative development that renders them incapable of taking any half-step, which reminds us of these leaders and their contributions to this march."
