Potential Canadian Action Against Israeli Extremists

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Friday that his government is considering imposing sanctions on "extremist" settlers in the West Bank, following the U.S. action against four Israeli individuals accused of involvement in violence in the occupied territories. He added to reporters in Waterloo, Ontario, "We are looking at how to ensure that those responsible for the violence of extremists or the violence of extremist settlers in the West Bank are held accountable." He emphasized that "violence in the West Bank is completely unacceptable and threatens peace and stability in the region and the path toward a two-state solution."
