What Meats Do Lebanese People Eat?

Maged Eid, Secretary of the Union of Butchers and Importers and Traders of Live Cattle, announced that the issue of selling Indian meat is escalating, stating that this type is not "beef." In an interview with "Voice of Lebanon," he questioned, "Is the state monitoring the expiration date of imported frozen meats?" emphasizing that "the goal is to protect the citizen, and that frozen and Indian meats are cut and do not contain bones." For his part, the President of the Consumer Association, Zuhair Barrouh, stressed that "the import of meats should be accompanied by a series of procedures," pointing out that "food safety law is not applied in Lebanon."
