The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas," announced the launch of two suicide attack drones targeting Israeli forces. The brigades stated in a press release that "one of the drones targeted squadron 107, known as the 'Orange Tail Knights,' belonging to the Israeli Air Force at Hatzorim Air Base." Meanwhile, the other drone targeted "the command headquarters of the Sinai Division in the occupation army located at the Tze’elim military base." The statement did not mention the outcomes of these attacks or whether they resulted in injuries.
For its part, the Israeli army radio reported that the Iron Dome intercepted at least one small drone launched from the Gaza Strip, without specifying the location of the interception. The name of the drone "Zouari" is attributed to the Tunisian aerospace engineer Muhammad Zouari, whom Hamas accuses Israeli Mossad of assassinating in collaboration with unspecified parties in Tunisia in 2016.
In related news, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced today, Monday, that "two Palestinians were killed in the Al-Jalzon refugee camp near Ramallah in the Israeli-occupied West Bank." Local residents told Reuters that "Israeli forces stormed the Al-Jalzon camp and launched a wide arrest campaign that was interspersed with clashes with armed individuals and confrontations with youths throwing stones."
The Israeli army announced that it "arrested 15 suspects during the raid," adding that "10 of them are fighters from Hamas, who carried out the attack on October 7, which resulted in the deaths of around 1,400 Israelis." The army further stated in a statement: "During the operation, suspects threw explosives and large stones from rooftops at Israeli security forces, who responded with live ammunition. The targets were specified," without providing further details.
