Patriarch Raï: Electing a President is the Only Path to Resolve the Political Crisis

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Raï affirmed that "electing a president is the only and essential entrance to solving the political crisis that causes other crises." He addressed the officials in his Sunday sermon, stating: "Enough violations of the constitution and fatal offenses against the state for individual, factional, or partisan interests that are condemned and rejected." He added: "Elect a president of the state to organize the various institutions, as the constitution is deliberately paralyzed." He continued: "We appeal to the conscience of the President and members of the parliamentary council, hoping that a pang of conscience will motivate them."
