Closure of the Eiffel Tower Due to Strike Sparks Disappointment Among Visitors

The Eiffel Tower, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world, halted operations today, Monday, as a result of employee strikes protesting the management's financial practices regarding the monument. This has left visitors gathered below feeling disappointed. The strike coincides with Paris's preparations to host the Summer Olympics 2024, which are set to begin on July 26. Metals from the tower are scheduled to be used in making medals for the winners.

Frustrated visitors stood outside the tower's barriers in front of a giant screen announcing the strike. Nelson Navarro, who traveled from Norfolk in England, expressed, "It's really unfortunate because we came for just three days and we won't be able to go up." Similarly, Vito Santos, who came from Canada, had intended to visit the landmark again after 15 years since his honeymoon to show it to his children. He stated, "It's disappointing... the plan was to come here very early to get tickets as soon as possible. But the strike was a surprise to us."
