Microsoft announced today, Monday, that it is collaborating with the Semafor media platform and other news organizations to assist journalists in using generative artificial intelligence for content creation. In a blog post, Microsoft stated that it will help organizations identify and improve procedures and policies for the responsible use of AI in news gathering and other activities within the sector. Semafor announced that it will launch a breaking news newsletter called "Signals," which journalists can use with tools from OpenAI and Microsoft to provide readers with analyses and insights on breaking news stories. Microsoft also announced collaborative activities with news organizations, including the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism in New York, the Online News Association, and the GroundTruth Project, to explore ways to integrate generative AI into their work and newsrooms.
