Israeli Army: We Are Preparing to Expand the War on the Border with Lebanon

The commander of the Northern Military District in the Israeli army, General Ori Gordin, announced that "the army continues to prepare to expand combat operations and shift to an offensive in the northern part of the country near the border with Lebanon." The Israeli army's media office reported Gordin as saying: "Our objective is to change the security situation in the north in a way that allows us to ensure a safe return for residents to their homes. We are all determined to change the security reality, and we continue to prepare to expand the war and transition to an offensive; this is our mission." He added: "We will continue defensive operations and strike at Hezbollah."
