Activists in Brazil have called for the removal of the statue of Dani Alves, the former star of the national team and Barcelona, following allegations of rape in Spain. In this regard, activist Manuela Tyler Midrado stated in an interview with the Spanish newspaper "Marca" that the presence of Alves's statue in his hometown of Juazeiro undermines the value and dignity of women. She added, "We need to create a society that does not normalize rape culture, and this is a great opportunity to clarify that sexual crimes must be rejected." Growing calls for the removal of Alves's statue have emerged over the past months, and local authorities are facing significant pressure to carry out the removal, especially as there have been several attempts to vandalize the statue.
