The Court of Accounts Responds After Rainwater Floods Airport Halls

The "invasion" of rainwater into the halls of Rafic Hariri International Airport has prompted the Court of Accounts to take unusual action. It has sent a memorandum to the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamieh, particularly given that the scene "shows a failure in the maintenance of the airport's facilities, halls, and equipment, which is unacceptable for state institutions, its citizens, and those responsible for it in any way."

The memorandum included several questions about the names of the companies responsible for maintenance and the entity that commissioned them, as well as whether the ministry has started investigations to determine the facts and reasons behind what happened, and to hold those responsible accountable for the damages incurred. The Court requested the minister to respond to these questions and others within two weeks to determine and name those responsible for the incident and to take the necessary actions regarding the matter.
