Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian condemned the American attack on Iraq and Syria last night, viewing it as a result of the continued wrong and failed American approach in resolving issues through the use of force and militarism. Abdullahian's remarks came during his meeting with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, on Saturday afternoon in Tehran. The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that the U.S. government's military approach, especially American and British military attacks against Yemen and the re-listing of Ansar Allah on the U.S. terrorism list, have complicated the situation and hindered the path to a political solution.
Abdollahian noted Iran's ongoing support for sustainable peace and security in Yemen, stating that efforts to establish stability and security throughout the region would benefit all countries in the area. For his part, Grundberg thanked Iran for its attention to stability and security in the region, especially in Yemen, and provided an explanation of the United Nations' efforts regarding Yemen, while also emphasizing the need for a fundamental solution to the region's crises by utilizing the region’s available potential.
