Title: "The Lebanese Forces: We Cannot Wait for a Political Solution in Syria to Begin the Return of Syrians"

The External Relations Department of the Lebanese Forces party commented today, Monday, on the statements made by Samuel Werberg, the regional spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, regarding the unfavorable conditions for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland. The statement said: "After the cessation of military battles across Syrian territory, and after the clear distinction between areas under Syrian regime control, or that of its allies and areas under the control of the opposition or enemies of the regime, the possibility for the return of Syrians present in Lebanon to one of these areas has become available." It added: "The actual number of Syrian refugees who are fearful for their lives from the regime has reached thousands, compared to the number of illegal Syrian migrants and new arrivals, whose total now approaches one and a half million Syrians present illegally in Lebanese territory." It concluded: "The Lebanese people cannot wait for a political solution in Syria to begin the return of Syrians to their homeland, as the infrastructure is nonexistent and the political, economic, living, and demographic situation amounts to a true existential crisis for Lebanon."
