The caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced upon leaving a meeting with the Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri in Ain al-Tineh that he "came for the purpose of greeting." He stated, "We discussed internal issues as well as recent developments in southern Lebanon." Mikati emphasized that "consultation at this stage is necessary, if not more than necessary."
