Websites in Lebanon: Reality and Challenges

The head of the "National Council for Audio-Visual Media" Abdul Hadi Mahfouz confirmed that the solidarity among websites is what necessitates their success and future role, accelerating the approval of the unified law. Following a meeting of the websites represented by the interim committee, Mahfouz proposed that "due to the expansion of online platforms, the interim committee should be expanded to serve temporarily instead of the idea of a syndicate. This means that the committee's authority, representing all regions, provinces, and sects, will act temporarily until the approval of the unified media law, serving as a de facto syndicate to lay the foundation for the subsequent phase." Mahfouz also welcomed proposals from photojournalist Khaled Ayad regarding the development of online websites and enhancing collaboration between the owners of these websites, the National Council, and the Ministry of Information.
