The Kuwaiti official gazette published an Amiri decree today, Sunday, approving a military cooperation agreement "technical" with Russia, which was signed on July 3rd of last month. According to the text of the agreement published in the Kuwaiti official gazette, both parties aim to collaborate in purchasing and supplying weaponry and defense equipment, as well as support services and maintenance and modernization of Russian military equipment currently owned by Kuwait, alongside services related to sustaining it.
The agreement also stipulates technical military cooperation in the fields of supplying weapons and military equipment, among other products for military purposes, and ensuring the operation, repair, and modernization of military-purpose products. It additionally covers the supply of spare parts, assemblies, units, tools, support elements, and training resources related to military-purpose products, and the provision of services in the field of technical military cooperation.
It emphasizes cooperation in the development of scientific research, the manufacturing of products, training staff in relevant educational institutions, and "any other fields of technical military cooperation concerning the agreements concluded between the two parties."
This new agreement is based on a defense cooperation agreement signed between the two countries in 1993.
