Leipzig Coach Won't Believe Bellingham Is Missing Until He Sees It Himself

There are doubts regarding Jude Bellingham's participation with Real Madrid in the Champions League match against RB Leipzig after he suffered an injury earlier this week, but Marco Rose, the German team's coach, won’t believe Bellingham is absent until he sees it with his own eyes. Bellingham left the pitch in the 57th minute during Real Madrid's 4-0 victory over Girona last Saturday, where he scored two goals. The club later announced he was diagnosed with a severe sprain of his left ankle.

However, Rose, who was speaking before tomorrow's Round of 16 first leg match against Real Madrid, does not trust that the Spanish giant will play without the top scorer in La Liga. Rose said at a press conference on Monday, "I won’t believe he’s absent until I see for myself that he’s not on the pitch." He added, "I know Jude; he will do everything he can to play. He might go to other doctors today to be fit. I have read a lot, but we’ll see if he comes or not."

Rose knows everything about Bellingham since he coached him at Borussia Dortmund during the 2021-2022 season, but he did not expect to see him score 16 goals in La Liga this season, along with four goals in the Champions League.
