Minister of Public Works and Transport in the caretaker government, Ali Hamiye, confirmed during his meeting with MP Toni Franjieh at his ministry office that "maintenance work on highways and roads classified within the ministry's jurisdiction is a priority." He noted that "the priority criterion for the condition of the roads will primarily guide the completion of work across all Lebanese regions, including Zgharta."
For his part, Franjieh emphasized that "road maintenance is a priority for us, as it has always been continuously monitored." He pointed out that "the proposal recently approved by the Cabinet regarding the completion of work on the Shka Tunnel-North highway is vital for the northern region." He considered that "the completion of this work is of significant importance to the people of the north in general and Zgharta in particular, as it positively impacts various developmental and economic aspects in the area."
