The office of the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, announced today, Wednesday, that "the U.S. strikes on military sites violate Iraq's sovereignty and lead to irresponsible escalation." The media office's statement added that Iraq regards these operations as "aggressive acts" that undermine years of cooperation. For his part, Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji confirmed that targeting Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters in Al-Qaim and Jurf al-Sakhar "is an aggression and a blatant violation of Iraqi sovereignty and does not help in easing tensions." He added that "the U.S. side should pressure to stop the ongoing attacks on Gaza instead of targeting and bombing the headquarters of a national institution in Iraq."
