Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti ruled out his club signing Kylian Mbappé before the end of the transfer period, despite ongoing speculation about the French forward's potential move to the Spanish giant. He announced that "Real is unlikely to make new signings until the transfer window closes on September 1."
When asked about the possibility of signing Mbappé during a press conference, Ancelotti responded, "No, I rule that out 100%. I believe our squad is complete and our players are focused on our season."
The transfer window in Saudi Arabia will remain open after September 1, meaning there is still a possibility of more top European players being signed, but the Real Madrid coach is not concerned. He added before the match against Celta Vigo in La Liga on Friday, "Perhaps one may change their mindset, but I'm not afraid of that."
Veteran midfielder Luka Modrić has not started in the first two league matches, prompting speculation about the Croatian player's dissatisfaction, which Ancelotti denied. He clarified, "Luka is already determining his future; there is no problem, and he will continue to contribute with us," and also mentioned that "new goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who joined from Chelsea, will start his first match as a starter."
