Apple released an update for its operating system (iOS 17) on Wednesday to resolve the overheating problem associated with its latest phones, the iPhone 15. The titanium-constructed series was launched last month, equipped with its advanced (A17) chip in the "Pro and Pro Max" models, making them suitable for the latest video games. Shortly after the release of the iPhone 15, users complained about short battery life and significant temperature rise.
An Apple spokesperson stated that the recent update to iOS 17 includes "important fixes for bugs and security updates and addresses an issue that might cause the iPhone to heat up more than expected." Following complaints that the new phones were overheating, Apple mentioned this week that the problem might appear in the first few days "after setting up the device or resetting it due to increased background app activity."
The company noted that recent updates to some third-party applications, such as Meta's Instagram and the Uber app, slow down the system. It added that the Pro versions do not have excessive overheating issues due to their design, as the new titanium structure aids in better heat dissipation.
