News has spread on social media indicating that the Lebanese army dispatched an armored force to the vicinity of the Ministry of Interior in Hamra to retrieve the vehicle belonging to the son of the army commander. This led to a scuffle between Internal Security Forces and the army chief's son's entourage, as the latter, who is an employee at the Central Bank of Lebanon, has been parking his vehicle illegally for several years. As a result, a security force detained the vehicle.
In this context, security sources confirmed that "the news circulating under the title 'Army Chief's Son Sparks a War with the Interior Minister' is a result of media exaggeration." The sources emphasized that "what occurred was nothing more than a misunderstanding between the Ministry of Interior's guard and the army chief's son's detail, and the matter was promptly addressed and resolved at the time."
