British maritime security company Ambrey reported that a cargo vessel owned by a Greek entity and flying the Marshall Islands flag was targeted by missiles in two separate incidents while sailing in Bab el-Mandeb. The company stated that the bulk carrier was hit and sustained some damage on its right side. Ambrey initially noted that the vessel detected a projectile nearby, located 23 nautical miles northeast of Khawr Angar in Djibouti and 40 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni coastal city of Mocha on the Red Sea. The British Maritime Trade Operations agency reported earlier on Monday that it received a report of an incident occurring 40 nautical miles south of Mocha, with the ship reporting being attacked by two missiles. The British agency noted that the crew was unharmed and that the ship was sailing towards its next port of call. A military spokesman for Ansar Allah stated, "We targeted the US vessel Star Iris in the Red Sea with missiles and achieved a direct hit." The Houthis claim that their attacks are in response to Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip.
