Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri confirmed that Israel is taking steps that lead to the displacement of Palestinians, which is internationally rejected. During a meeting of the Arab Islamic Ministerial Committee with the Spanish Foreign Minister on Monday, Shukri stated that countries opposing displacement are not undertaking sufficient measures to prevent it. He emphasized that a ceasefire in Gaza will only be achieved if Israel realizes it is in its interest, which can only occur through international pressure.
Shukri noted that the amount of aid entering the Gaza Strip is very low due to obstructive Israeli measures; for this reason, Arab and Islamic countries have submitted a draft resolution to the Security Council. Egypt has declared its rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land and the liquidation of the Palestinian cause.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi affirmed that the forced displacement of Palestinians is a red line that Egypt will not accept or allow. He added in his speech last Thursday that if Palestinians leave their land, they will not return again, stressing that the Arab region is facing a grave crisis that adds to the threats it has faced for decades.
