Olympics in Paris: Athletes from Russia and Belarus Will Not Participate in the Opening Ceremony

The International Olympic Committee announced today, Tuesday, that "athletes from Russia and Belarus will not participate in the parade of nations during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in July." Athletes qualified for the Olympics from these two countries will compete as independent athletes without their flags and national anthems following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
