The European Union stated in a statement today, Friday, that the EU's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, will visit Lebanon from January 5 to 7 to discuss the situation on the Israeli-Lebanese border and the importance of avoiding regional escalation. The statement mentioned that "Borrell will reaffirm the need to enhance diplomatic efforts with the region's leaders."
