Mikati Receives Bukhari and the UNDP Resident Representative

The caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Lebanon, Walid Bukhari, at the Grand Serail today. During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in Lebanon's political and economic situation, the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and ways to enhance them in all areas, in addition to discussing several issues of mutual interest. Mikati also met with the UNDP Resident Representative in Lebanon, Melanie Haukstain, at the Serail this morning. After the meeting, she stated, "I informed Prime Minister Mikati of my departure from Lebanon after completing my mission here, and I thanked him for the excellent cooperation that we had. We also discussed the ongoing support that the UNDP provides to Lebanon, particularly through collaboration with the Prime Minister's Office. I informed him about the evaluation the program is conducting regarding the conflict in the south, my visit to the region last week, and how we can coordinate together to provide what people need, including the ongoing need for reform. I expressed my readiness to work to advance development in Lebanon until my departure at the end of the year."
