An informed Iraqi source revealed today, Monday, that a group from the militia "Alaa al-Haq" led by Qais al-Khazali has split and joined the "Sadr Movement," headed by the Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr. The source, who preferred to remain anonymous for "Al-Nahar Al-Arabi," stated that "armed Islamic groups in Iraq are currently experiencing a state of splits and internal divisions, particularly among their leaders and loyal members." He confirmed that "the majority of members of the armed groups allied with Iran are dissatisfied with their leaders, evidenced by a recent split of a youth group from Al-Alaa that joined the Sadr Movement." The relationship between the Sadr Movement and Al-Alaa is often characterized by tension, reaching the point of armed conflict and assassination attempts, especially in central and southern Iraq, due to longstanding ideological and political reasons.
