The Board of Directors of the "King Salman Park" Foundation announced the completion of the construction works for the "Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Road Tunnel" project, aimed at improving traffic flow in Riyadh. The "Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Road Tunnel" project is the first of the bridge and tunnel projects to be completed, with construction starting in the third quarter of 2021 as part of a series of construction works and projects within the "King Salman Park" project, launched by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on March 19, 2019.
The tunnel, which spans 2430 meters, features a modern design with colors that harmonize with the local environment and materials that meet sustainability goals. It includes three vehicle lanes in each direction, along with an emergency lane. The tunnel is also equipped with advanced traffic management systems, the latest safety procedures, and evacuation methods.
