In Iraq... Turkish Drone Strike Kills 3 Sinjar Resistance Unit Members

Iraqi security sources told Reuters that three fighters from the Sinjar Resistance Units, affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), were killed in a Turkish drone strike in northern Iraq on Sunday. Two security sources informed Reuters that the three fighters from the Sinjar Resistance Units were in their vehicle in the Sinjar region when they were hit by the drone strike. Turkey has been conducting a long-term campaign in Iraq and Syria against PKK fighters, the Sinjar Resistance Units, and the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units, which Ankara considers all to be terrorist organizations. Turkey carries out periodic airstrikes in northern Iraq and has dozens of sites on Iraqi territory, but it has intensified its drone attacks in recent days, targeting sites closer to urban areas and along main roads.
