The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced the list of nominees for induction this year on Saturday, including for the first time singer-songwriter Mariah Carey and pop singer Cher. Also among the first-time nominees are the rock band Foreigner, rock star Peter Frampton, funk band Kool and the Gang, singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz, Britpop band Oasis, and singers Helen Folasade (Sade) and Sinéad O'Connor. R&B star Mary J. Blige appears in the list for the second time. To be eligible for induction, an artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before the year of nomination. The final list will be announced in late April. The ceremony, which will take place in Cleveland, Ohio, will be streamed live on Disney+ and will have a special broadcast on ABC.
