Army Commander General Joseph Aoun attended a live ammunition combat drill in the Hanouch farm area in Haqqar, executed by third-year cadets at the military academy. The drill simulated an attack on a terrorist group and its eradication after occupying several sensitive points in the area. It involved the use of light, medium, and heavy weapons, support weapons, helicopters, and aircraft. The capabilities of the graduating officers and their leadership of ground combat units in the infantry and armored weapons, alongside the air force, were evident. One of the graduating officers provided an explanation to the command officers about the military operation and the progress of the units.
At the conclusion of the drill, General Aoun addressed the cadets, praising their "performance and the professionalism they exhibited." He stated, "You are the elite of the army, and during your three years of training at the military academy, you have proven your readiness and that you are worthy of trust due to the discipline, professionalism, and commitment you have shown, which was evident today during the drill."
He added, "The more we train and sweat, the less blood we shed. You will soon graduate as officers and take on your responsibilities in the units. You face a long phase filled with challenges, and I am confident that you will be up to the task."
