There has been no change in the battlefield situation in southern Lebanon, as hostilities between the Israeli army, which still occupies a significant portion of Lebanon's water-rich areas such as the Shebaa Farms and the Kfar Shuba hills, and Hezbollah have intensified since October 8, 2023. Bombardments continue day and night as part of a strategy to clear the regions adjacent to the border with Palestine, aiming to render them devoid of weapons and people, and to prepare them for negotiations. Airstrikes continue in the town of Tyre Harfa, causing severe damage to properties, infrastructure, and surrounding homes, as well as in the outskirts of the town of Naqoura, Mount Labouna, and Alama al-Shaab.
Notably, the Israeli army has been actively cutting off both secondary and main roads that connect villages and towns with heavy gunfire, particularly towards Mount Labouna and Alama in the western sector. This is accompanied by reconnaissance flights, focusing on the western and central sectors with illuminating bombs, while keeping the Marjeyoun plain under fire supervision. All of this indicates an increased pressure to implement UN Resolution 1701, aimed at pushing Hezbollah north of the Litani River. Meanwhile, Hezbollah's position is clear: there will be no discussion of any proposals concerning it until the war on Gaza stops and the situation in the south calms down, after which the party will engage in political discussions on any matter.
