The Russian antitrust authority reported that the American company "Apple" has paid a fine of 1.2 billion rubles (approximately 13.4 million dollars) for violating competition laws in Russia. The Russian authority confirmed in a statement released today, Monday, that the funds have already been transferred to the Russian budget, following the imposition of the fine on the American company on January 19 of this year. The authority noted that it concluded that the American company "Apple" violated antitrust laws in the country by requiring Russian software developers to exclusively process payments for services and goods through its App Store. Last January 2023, the Russian antitrust authority announced that it imposed a fine on "Apple" for abusing its dominant market position at that time, which amounted to 1.2 billion rubles.
