The Qatari channel "Al Jazeera" obtained exclusive images showing the Al-Qassam Brigades tracking the movements of the officer in the Shaldag unit, "Yitzhar Hoffman," before he was killed by a sniper using an upgraded locally-made Ghouls rifle. The images showed the officer at a command center in the city of Gaza alongside several soldiers, followed by footage of him being tracked after he arrived at a field location in Gaza where he was shot by a sniper.
The Al-Qassam Brigades released a video of the sniper attack on Officer Hoffman after the Israeli army announced his death at the end of January. Officer "Yitzhar Hoffman" was responsible for the siege and storming of the Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza. Israeli radio reported that Hoffman "is considered a significant loss as he was one of the top planners in the war on Gaza and had developed methods of combat within the tunnels."
