Israeli channel "i24NEWS" reported that a shooting incident occurred early Friday morning from the Jordanian side of the King Hussein Bridge towards a force belonging to the Israeli army. According to the channel, "a jeep patrol occupied by soldiers from the mixed Haruv Battalion responsible for the area was targeted, and the force responded by firing about ten shots towards the source of the gunfire. Large forces from the Israeli army rushed to the specified location, and there were no injuries on the Israeli side, although the patrol jeep sustained damage. After the shooting, a joint investigation was initiated by the Jordanian army and central command." The channel further noted, "verification is underway regarding whether a Jordanian soldier was involved in the shooting, and it is considered exceptional that the Israeli army has refrained from commenting on the incident so far." The channel quoted political analyst Amir Oren as saying that the situation remains unclear and the exact source of the gunfire is not yet known.
