The Supreme Court of Catalonia announced this morning, Monday, the temporary release of Barcelona legend Dani Alves from prison. The court had ruled last week to conditionally release Alves in the rape case he is accused of, with a bail set at one million euros. Marca newspaper reported, "After 14 months in prison, Dani Alves has been released after managing to raise the required one million euros bail today." It noted that Alves had attempted to secure his release by paying the bail last week, but the family of Neymar da Silva, the Saudi Al-Hilal star, withdrew their support. The report clarified that although Alves' assets were frozen, he successfully gathered the fine under significant pressure and paid it today, as announced by the court this morning.
