British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell, oversaw the delivery of 60 tons of replacement parts for military vehicles and tires to the Lebanese Army at the Logistics Brigade barracks in Kfarshima. This contribution, valued at £2 million, underscores the United Kingdom's commitment to supporting the Lebanese Army in its efforts to maintain stability and security.
This package, which includes 225 engines, 737 new tires, and spare parts, will facilitate the servicing, repair, and maintenance of over 440 military vehicles, enhancing operational readiness for border regiments and ensuring safety on the roads. Cowell stated, "I am proud of the UK's ability to contribute to strengthening the resilience of the Lebanese Army and its operational readiness. The Lebanese Army plays a crucial role, led by General Joseph Aoun, in protecting Lebanon and its people amidst ongoing challenges, especially with the fighting across the border in southern Lebanon. This equipment is vital for the operations of the border regiments tasked with securing Lebanon's borders and combating smuggling and terrorist activities. The United Kingdom reaffirms its commitment to supporting the Lebanese Army and enhancing the security and stability of Lebanon."
