The coach of the Egyptian national team, Portuguese Rui Vitoria, announced the starting lineup for the Pharaohs for the match against Cape Verde, tonight, Monday, in the third and final round of Group B in the Africa Cup of Nations. Vitoria relied on Zamalek star Ahmed Sayed Zizo in the right winger position to compensate for Mohamed Salah, who is absent due to injury.
The starting lineup for the Egyptian national team is as follows:
- Goalkeeper: Mohamed El Shenawy
- Defense: Mohamed Hani – Ahmed Hegazy – Mohamed Abdel Moneim – Ahmed Fattouh
- Midfield: Hamdi Fathy – Marwan Attia – Imam Ashour
- Attack: Ahmed Mustafa Zizo – Mostafa Mohamed – Omar Marmoush.
Cape Verde has secured qualification and topped Group B with a perfect score of six points, winning their first two matches against Ghana (2-1) and Mozambique (3-0). Meanwhile, the Egyptian team occupies the runner-up position with two points, followed by Ghana and Mozambique, each with one point.
Egypt needs to win against Cape Verde to qualify for the Round of 16 as the runner-up of Group B, regardless of the outcome of the other match in the same group, which will see Ghana face Mozambique later tonight.
