The Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has often faced claims that his move to Saudi Al-Nassr was purely for money, but his stance regarding the King Salman Cup for champion clubs "Arab Championship" 2023 contradicts that. The "don" achieved his first title with "Al-Nassr" in August, following the victory against Saudi Al-Hilal 2-1 in extra time.
According to Al-Nassr sports journalist Saud Al-Sarami, Ronaldo informed management not to transfer the prize money for the tournament to his account, preferring instead to donate it to the community or allocate it in ways that benefit the club.
Al-Sarami said in statements during the "Diwaniyah" program: "People think Ronaldo's role is just to score goals, but his culture is much broader than that. Cristiano refused to accept the Arab Championship reward and requested it to be given to a segment of people or spent on something that serves the club. The man takes initiative with the institution he belongs to and is bringing about many changes."
