Social media outlets circulated a video of soldiers from the Golani Brigade singing in joy over the decision to withdraw from Gaza. Israeli media attributed this decision to the need for the members of this brigade, considered elite soldiers in the army, to rest and visit their families after spending 70 days in the streets of Gaza, where the brigade suffered heavy casualties, estimated by the Hebrew site "Walla" at 44 soldiers.
An Israeli Channel 12 report stated that this decision came after the Golani members endured tough times fighting fiercely for nine days in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, where the Israeli army faced a series of operations and ambushes carried out by Hamas fighters, resulting in the loss of numerous soldiers and officers. However, the military leadership in Israel confirmed that the brigade is returning to the field in Gaza to complete its mission.
