The Saudi Ministry of Interior has begun implementing procedures for the amnesty of inmates sentenced for public rights, in order to release them and reunite them with their families, following the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz. Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif directed the swift execution of the royal order and the completion of procedures for the beneficiaries.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud stated, "This compassionate humanitarian gesture from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques will have a profound impact on the beneficiaries upon their release and reunification with their families." This step in the recent amnesty comes coinciding with the start of the month of Ramadan, in addition to decisions made by Saudi Arabia regarding the application of a service suspension regulation starting Monday.
The regulation stipulates that the implementation of service suspension should not result in harm to those whose services are suspended, nor should the suspension adversely affect their dependents or others, and it must occur only with a legal document. Services related to healthcare, education, employment, commercial registration, documentation of civil events, and identification papers are excluded from this suspension.
