The value of Bitcoin briefly plunged about 85% during trading on the BitMEX exchange, reaching $8,900 before rising back to around $64,000. As of 1:20 PM Moscow time yesterday, Bitcoin was trading at $64,135.69, representing a relative decrease of 5.44%, according to the CoinDesk platform. Media reports attributed the sudden drop in Bitcoin's value to a massive number of sell orders being placed in a short period. Reports indicated that BitMEX is investigating the incident.
