Australia to Host Formula 1 Season Opener in 2025

The International Automobile Federation announced today, Friday, the schedule for the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship. According to the plan, the season opener will take place in Australia for the first time in six years, while the Gulf region will not feature in the season's opening round. The season will start on March 16 in Melbourne and conclude in Abu Dhabi on December 7.

The Bahrain Grand Prix has been the opening race of the season since 2021, while the Saudi race has been the second round of the championship since 2022. Formula 1 missed the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it will now host the season opener instead of Bahrain due to Ramadan falling in March next year.

Dates for practice, testing, and sprint races will be announced later. During the current season, six sprint races will take place in China, Miami, Austria, the United States (Austin), Brazil, and Qatar.
