An Egyptian child has generated widespread interaction on social media in the past few hours, as he was seen leading worshippers in Taraweeh prayers in Egypt. The child, Mohamed Al-Qalaji, appeared in an Azharian outfit, reciting the Quran beautifully and leading the prayers in a mosque in the country. It is noteworthy that the child secured first place in the Port Said International Quran Competition in the field of religious chanting.
Who is he?
Mohamed Ahmed Al-Qalaji is 11 years old and hails from the village of Nasreya in the Sharqia Governorate, currently in the sixth grade of elementary school. He began memorizing the Quran at the age of 4 in Sharqia, starting in a "kuttab" (Quran school), and later moved to the city of "10th of Ramadan" to complete memorizing the entire Quran. He also excelled in religious chanting, studying under renowned teachers and specializing in vocal techniques, which led to his qualification for the international chanting competition.
