At least 42 people have died in the collapse of a dam in a town located north of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, according to the regional governor, Susan Kehika, amid heavy rains and flooding in the country. The governor indicated that "at least 42 deaths have been confirmed. Many are still in the mud, and we are working to retrieve them." People are joining police officers in the search for survivors after the dam broke in Old Kijabe, sweeping away individuals and houses in Mai Mahiu, Naivasha. So far, ten bodies have been recovered.
